Dr. Nanna Ariaban
Board Certified Pediatric Dental Specialist
After a happy childhood in the suburbs of Washington, DC, Dr. Nanna Ariaban excelled at the University of Maryland, earning a bachelor of science in neurobiology and physiology. Next, she served in a civilian capacity at the Naval Hospital Research Facility, working on how to prevent lethal combat injuries. Her success was measured by the hundreds of lives that were saved in combat when the military implemented her research.
Dr. Nanna, as her patients call her, chose the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. It is one of only three universities at that level with a dental school. Her passion to help children shined through her participation in the annual Special Olympics of Philadelphia and her internship at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, which is world-renowned for the help it brings to children.

Once she had earned her doctorate of dental medicine, Dr. Nanna continued her education at the University of Illinois-Chicago to become a board-certified pediatric dentist in Alpharetta, GA, John Creek & Roswell. She was specially trained to serve the dental needs of children of all ages, from infant though young adult, and also is trained to help those with physical and mental disabilities.
Special Communication Techniques
Her pediatric dentistry training was enhanced with instruction on special communication techniques to both distract and manage the behavior of her young clients. She is also able to administer oral sedation at her office or, when necessary, complete dental treatment at a hospital. Her research interest is the relationship between oral health literacy and oral health knowledge. This research earned her a master of science degree in oral sciences. She was privileged to present her research at the 2010 American Academic of Pediatric Dentistry’s annual Chicago meeting.
Dr. Nanna is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. She makes her home in Fulton County with her husband and enjoys spending her spare time cooking, reading, working out and creating and browsing Pinterest boards!
Outside The Office
Dr. Nanna lives in Atlanta with her husband, Dr. Nima, who is an orthodontist and the owner of Newpark Orthodontics. Between pursuing her passion for helping children achieve healthy smiles, she enjoys traveling and exploring beautiful cities (of course, none can compare to Alpharetta!). She is also a creative soul who loves to spend her time creating Pinterest boards and completing interior design projects. In fact, the fun, friendly design of Polkadot Pediatric Dentistry’s office was her idea!
